  • Summary: Britax Rdbt 50
  • Comment: Love the pattern (cowmooflage), seat and materials seem great, baby is quite comfy, easy to get her in and out, etc. only two real gripes:
    1. straps at neck seem placed awfully close together (i made some fleece covers to protect babe's neck)
    2. the belt clasp between legs is short - would be a lot easier to use if it was a little longer, that said, you get used to it.

  • Summary: Britax Roundabout 50 Convertible Car Seat
  • Comment: My family has about 5 britax's and we are very happy with their products. This is a little more cheaply made than their premium models, but I can't complain as I got a sweet deal on this, but I wish that the seat had a separate reclining part like a true car seat. My daughter loves the seat and the fact that it's one of the safest makes me a happy person.

  • Summary: It's a Britax!!!
  • Comment: Excellent car seat, my daughter loves it especially now that she is facing forward. Researched a lot of car seats and Britax just seemed like the best overall one. Great price on Amazon as well and super fast shipping. Thanks Amazon!

  • Summary: Okay, not great.
  • Comment: Well, I'm sure this is a safe carseat in an accident, but there are some design flaws from a user perspective.

-As another reviewer mentioned, the buckle is too low and definitely pinches my son's thighs from time to time when I'm fastening him in.

-The LATCH tethers aren't long enough to reach the hooks in the forward facing position in all cars. It's just unbelievable! For example, when I've tried to install the seat using the LATCH system in my friend's Toyota minivan, the LATCH straps just won't reach the hooks. I have to use the shoulder belt instead. Couldn't they have just made the straps a couple of inches longer?!?!

-When installing the seat using the LATCH system, it can be incredibly hard to tighten the straps such that the seat feels secure. I end up sitting IN the seat and pulling and tugging on the straps for 10 minutes before it's tight enough, and then I still use the lap belt since it still wiggles around too much.

  • Summary: Won't fit small babies well
  • Comment: I bought this for my 3 month old who is a little small for his age (11 lbs) thinking that it would be a great seat to last him a long time rear facing because of his size. Come to find out, he is still too small for it at nearly 4 months. The bottom harness slot is too high for him. I don't see how this seat could fit a 5 lb newborn. It can't safely.
    The good:
The seat seems like it's very comfy for my little one. He used to scream in his old car seat. It's very plush and cushion-y. I'm out on whether or not I like the crotch protector or whatever where the buckle is. There's like a pad between it and the baby. The installation was easy with LATCH. I drive a Kia Rio Cinco which is tiny and it fits pretty well with the passenger seat pulled to the dash board. I like that it has the Velcro harness holders (little tabs of Velcro placed so when the straps aren't being used, it pulls them to the sides) and the buckles are very easy to fasten and unfasten. Overall it's a great seat, just not for small babies.
